For the last 9 years the quiet roads of the Tweeddale area have been brought to a steady 20mph with the amazing sounds and sights of some 50, mainly vintage, tractors making their way round a 55 mile circuit to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support during the Blyth Bridge Tractor Run.
It is always a great day out, expertly organised by Stan and Anne Weir, and over the years the event has raised over £80,000. The Day starts from the green in Blyth Bridge at 9am before heading down the A701 to Tweedsmuir and over the hills to St Mary's Loch for a lunch stop. The route then takes the tractors to Peebles, via Traquair, where they all go up the high street and have a stop in the East Gate car park. Finally, after another trip down the high street, the tractors return to Blyth Bridge where certificates are handed out and the after party begins...
This is the third year that Treeline's Massey Fergusson 35 "Daphne" has taken part and this year she also took along a friend, "Hercules", our small Alpine tractor for company.
Below are some pictures from the day...
