We recently had a visit from Rab and Wendy from Forest Machine Magazine who were writing an article on what we do as a company, how we do it and the machinery that we use.

We have now had our Malwa forwarder for a little over a year so I thought I would share some of our experiences of using it in UK conditions.  

Treeline has recently taken delivery of a wood fuelled log drying kiln and so can now offer our customers kiln dried firewood in addition to our existing products.

With the increase in use of wood pellets for domestic heating, driven by the domestic RHI, we at Treeline have seen an increase in the demand for pellets.

The first job we tackled with the Malwa was part of a thinning program on an estate in central Scotland.  The wood pictured was a mixed Sycamore and Larch plantation on undulating ground with rocky outcrops.

Treeline has recently been authorised as a producer and supplier of BSL authorised wood fuel. The Biomass Suppliers List has been set up by DECC

Last year we visited the Elmia Wood show in Sweden with one aim being to look at small scale harvesting and extraction machinery.

Following my last post on how we ended up in Sweden at the Malwa factory, this is a more in-depth look at the machines and how they are made.

Following on from last weeks post looking at reducing the negative impacts that can come from thinning we have also recently been thinning some woods without cutting any access racks.

Its that time of year again where we Brits see every moment of sunshine as an opportunity to cook outside.  Here at Treeline we are no different, with the possible exception that I decided to make my own barbecue, and I saw the perfect base for it in the windblown stump of a tree.
